Time certainly flies, I can’t believe I’m already 1 year old. I remember seeing Phoebe and others celebrating their first birthday then and thinking it was sooo far away. Wow… it’s really my turn today! We don’t have any big celebration but rather a sweet & warm quality time with my parents. Ah Kong & YiPo also turned up at the dinner.
I woke up early on this special day, with my daddy & mummy wishing me Happy Birthday and shower of kisses from them.
My daddy took the day off just for that
They took my pictures like crazy… As usual, my mummy baked me a cake to cut. My daddy was entertaining me while mummy was busy decorating my birthday cake.
This round my cake did not come out as nice as originally planned because my mummy attempted too much with too little time left. She had to rollback everything and went for the basic cocoa cream frosting at the end :p
Tried on Mommy’s Bishop Dress which she made for me, I love it and Thank You Mommy. Yi Po came in the evening and she handed me a big ang pow. Ah Kong also came to join us for dinner. He gave me an ang pow and brought me another surprise ang pow from my Kay Ma (my mummy’s god-mum) too. Although we don’t invite others to the celebration, I do get lots of surprise birthday presents from friends & relatives. Auntie Jennie, Aunty Rachel, Aunty Swee Ying, Aunty SiewSiew, Aunty Marina, Aunty Li, etc, thank you so much for all your thoughtful gifts and I love them all. Hugs & XOXO from ME! My mummy said we have to always give thanks for the good things we receive!
Dear Lord, I’m glad that you have allowed me to know all the kind people who brought together all the special blessings on my birthday to make it a day filled with love, hope & joy. I pray that this coming year might be one that will bring me closer to you and also ask that Your glory will shine through my life everyday. In Your precious name. Amen.
We went to queensbay mall for dinner as Ah Kong insisted to get me a pair of shoes. According to chinese custom, maternal grandparents are supposed to buy the birthday boy/girl a pair of shoes at 1-year-old so as for him/her to walk steadily in his/her life.
We all enjoyed the dinner at TGIF and they found me a special stage to sit with a good view though.
For the first time in my life, I realized the best tasting of ice-cream ever and I couldn’t resist asking for more. :p We did not spend too long there and came home for cake cutting as soon as I grabbed my new pair of Mary Jane, from FOS, that well matches to the bishop dress that I’s wearing. Love them! Thank you Ah Kong.
When I saw my birthday cake well set up on the table, I tried all possible ways to land my hands & feet on it. I’m always so curious at new stuff. Of course my parents wouldn’t let me do that. Again, we took a lot of pictures then my parents help me to cut my very FIRST birthday cake. That concluded the day and I look forward to a wonderful year ahead!
