In memory of Jiajia

On June 12, 2009, we lost her to cancer. After a 6-year battle with the disease, from colon to lymph nodes, then to pancreas and other parts of the body,  Jiajia elegantly walked away from us. She inspired others, courageously fighting a disease that just wouldn’t let go, reminding us all what a precious gift it is just to be alive. She is determined more than ever to have to wait till I’m here.

We’ll walk with the sweetest memories of such a great person in our lives.

Hannah’s Jia Jia passed away on June 12 2009.  A few days after Hannah’s full moon.  It started off a happy week but ended sad with the death of Hannah’s Jia Jia.  She had cancer which was diagnosed in 2003, the year we got married.

She was a very kind hearted person and nice, so nice she always got bullied by her children as I bear witness to the incidences.  Ai Ling and her mom had their differences but deep down I know that Ai Ling loved her mom a lot as I never see her cry so much before.  Anyways it was sad as I too had lost my mom when I was 13 years old.

To say the least, she did wait for Hannah to be born and I am happy that she got to see her Grand Daughter.  Though Hannah carried the family name “Seow”, she still loved her very much and asked about Hannah’s well being even on the day before she passed away when I visited her at the hospital.  Even in her weakened state, she asked if Hannah was being good or not.  How I knew she loved Hannah a lot was due to the fact that each morning I would see her carrying Hannah each morning, talking and playing with her for almost the whole month she stayed with us.  She also wished for me to have a baby boy next but alas she will not be able to see that.

Sad post should be kept short so that sadness do not stay in our hearts long and as I think back, I too will miss Hannah’s Jia Jia as she reminded me so much of my own mom.

In remembrance of Hannah’s Jia Jia, Yew Ah Moi, born March 1st, 1950.  Loved by all those she touched.
